The skills into business as usual in the organisation
From behaviour change research and our experience, we know there is a knowledge-action gap with any new learning or skill. People have an intellectual understanding (those “ah-ha” moments) of what they need to do but may struggle to put the behaviour into practice.
We address this by:
- Ensuring active practice of skills during training sessions
- Following up training with reminders and other prompts to practice
- Working closely with organisations to ensure that effective frameworks and supports are in place to embed new skills as part of business as usual, “This is the way we do things around here”.
We strive to help participants develop skills as regular habits, so they become automatic – requiring less energy and effort to use.
