Moments of joy

When was the last time you experienced a moment of joy? I noticed it today. I was doing something routine and caught myself feeling a surge of joy and contentment. It wasn’t a large surge, just enough to spot it and savour the moment. This experience got me thinking about how many moments like this may occur every day but we don’t notice them – perhaps because we are busy or focusing on getting something achieved, or distracted from the moment by a phone call or email.

We know from a large body of research studies that keeping track of things we are grateful for gives our levels of happiness and wellbeing a boost (LINK HERE).

I wonder if keeping track of moments of joy may provide us with similar benefits? You may want to write them down, or tell someone about them, or simply notice and savour them yourself. See if doing this boosts your sense of wellbeing or has other benefits for you.
